First Production Stage Launched

The launch of the first phase of a cutting edge high tech production from nanostructural ceramic and sintered metal materials by Virial LLC of Rosnano project company was announced at a press conference at Svetlana works on August 19.

The opening of a new facility was attended by Rosnano Board chair Anatoly Chubais, Closed JSC Novomet-Perm General Director Oleg Perelman, Virial General Director Vladimir Rumiantsev and St. Petersburg Vice-Governor Mikhail Oseevsky.

The reporters were shown the production facility and they could see the full production cycle with their own yes. «Everything you see is the result of many years of work, and we did our best carrying it out», underscored Production Director Sergey Vasiliev.

Indeed, Virial’s «best efforts» are impressive. The company has about 40% share of the Russian market of parts and components for submersible oil extraction pumps. Today it’s the only Russian producer of cutting tools and components for submersible oil extracting pumps based on unique technology. The company plans to become a resident and launch construction of new works in Novo-Orlovskaya zone of St. Petersburg.

«The launch of a factory for serial production gives start to a really interesting project, the so-called technology line of new plants», underscored Rosnano Managing Director Dmitry Lysenkov.

The project’s total budget is 1,7 bln rubles. Apart from Rosnano, the company was co-financed by CapMan foundation, a leading direct investment foundation in Northern Europe, and Closed JSC Siberian Organics. The launch of the new facility will allow to increase production volume to up to 1,2 mn items.

«Here, step by step, against criticism and suspicion, real people were really acting», said Rosnano Board chair Anatoly Chubais and opened the ceremony by pressing the industrial heater start button.

The reporters asked about work conditions for the personnel, It turned out that the average workforce age is 35, which proves the fact that younger people have good changes to fulfill themselves in the professional area.

«I am convinced that many innovators will go to the academy of life here», added Mikhail Oseevsky.

The launch of the facility shows that implementation of hi-tech solutions enhances business development. New technologies help companies compete both on the Russian and international markets.
